National Grid is holding a public meeting to present the results of the soil gas testing completed by Narragansett Electric Company at the Tidewater Site. During earthwork activities, air monitoring will be performed by GZA consistent with the RIDEM approved, April 2011 Air Quality Monitoring Program (AQMP) and subsequent May 5, 2011 correspondence.  We currently anticipate this limited repair will be completed in one to two days and will involve a minimal amount of soil disturbance (approximately 10 cubic yards). It is anticipated that excavated material will be reused as backfill and no soil will be transported off-site.

The excavation work associated with the regulator station upgrades is complete. Above-ground work associated with the regulator station is complete, except for replacement of one of the buildings within the regulator station fence line. The schedule for this work is currently being evaluated. Earthwork associated with the proposed electrical substation upgrades is currently anticipated to begin in August 2012. An evaluation regarding the applicability of Air Pollution Control Regulation No. 9 with respect to the excavation work associated with proposed electrical substation upgrades was submitted to RIDEM on February 13, 2012.
