About the Former Tidewater MGP and Power Plant Facility

The former Tidewater Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) and Power Plant site (“site”) is an approximately 23-acre property located  at the ends of Tidewater and Merry Streets in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is bordered by the Seekonk River to the east.

Active natural gas and electrical utility infrastructure are present in the central and southern portions of the property including a natural gas regulating station, an electrical switching and substation, and electrical transmission towers.  A locked perimeter chain-link fence surrounds this portion of the property.   The northern portion of the property has been leased to a third party and a stadium was constructed in this portion of the property.
